Paintings and ceramics on display at the chapel. Carennac

Laurence Demange has been passionate about ceramics for about ten years, ever since she met ceramic artists through her work as a mental health nurse and her use of art therapy. Totems, spheres, tableware, and small figurines are the pieces Laurence is exhibiting in Carennac. “For me, the spheres represent life, and the totems the earth’s ascent toward the sky,” she says. It’s worth noting that she makes her own glazes in her studio in Rouffilhac.

Alongside her, in the chapel, Denis Grué, a Franco-American painter based in Payrac, is exhibiting several of his paintings. For the past fifteen years or so, he has devoted himself to his passion, heavily influenced by Kandinsky, Miró, and Picasso. He has already exhibited in Cahors, Paris, and New York. Geometric shapes, primary and vibrant colors, and work in perspective are the hallmarks of Denis Grué’s paintings. “I am constantly searching for my own style, looking for it within my imagination,” he confides. The exhibition, organized by the Carenn’Arts association.
